Guy Fieri may have never stopped in Little Canada during any of his FORTY STOPS to Minnesota Diners, Drive-Ins, or Dives, but that’s ok; he doesn’t know what he’s missing.
Little Canada is home to dozens of awesome places to grab a bite, and the location is bar-none, nestled right between some of the most major highways in the area. As a local contractor, you can definitely find us there grabbing lunch or a nice dinner on the weekends. Check out some of the local favorites!
1- Porterhouse Steak and Seafood 🥩🍤
If you’re looking for a classic steak house to satiate your meat-tooth, Porterhouse Steak and Seafood is THE place. They have everything from Nova Scotia lobster tails to Atlantic salmon and amazing Ribeyes that you won’t regret indulging in. And you’d be remiss not to start things off with their burrata bruschetta— yum!
Real Customer Review: “Filet Mignon melted in your mouth! The bruschetta was amazing 🤩 great service from the waitress; nice and pleasant, with smiles on her face the whole time. Pleasant experience.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
2- Eastside Pizzeria 🍕
Remember growing up and having that one pizza place that served huge, cheesy thin-crust pizzas cut into squares? Well, get ready for a big taste of nostalgia because Eastside Pizzeria will bring those memories rushing back. These pizzas are loaded with toppings and cut into the perfect squares where you get all the toppings in every bite. They also serve wings that have a dozen sauce options. You really can’t go wrong.
Real Customer Review: “I’m so lucky to live near my new favorite pizza joint! Everything about Eastside Pizzeria (Little Canada location) has been fantastic! I’ve only been there five times for takeout, but every time it has been perfect! Great crust, awesome sauce, and very good toppings. The only thing better than the pizza is the owners and employees. It’s a must😎” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
3- Hoggsbreath 🍗
Hoggsbreath is not just a tasty restaurant but also a bar, game room, and event space. They have an outstanding menu, happy hours every day, weekend DJs, a game room with pool and darts, and Cosmic Bingo every Saturday night! 4- Caravelle Restaurant 🍜
Caravelle Restaurant has a location in Minneapolis and Little Canada— both of which serve some of the absolute best Vietnamese food in the Twin Cities. Their extensive menu has everything from deep-fried quail to steamed shrimp dumplings, and they’re well-known for their amazing Pho selection. It’s one of our favorite places to go when we have a cold! Some nice hot Pho burns it right out. Highly recommend it!
Real Customer Review: “Best chicken pho in the twin cities, full stop. Food was cooked fresh to order and was bagged up neatly so that I could carry it easily. Spring rolls were also phenomenal. You can tell they really care about the quality of the food and their service as it was sublime as well! Will be back for more soon.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
5- Taste of Scandinavia Bakery and Cafe 🍰
So what makes this bakery and cafe Scandinavian? Yes, they have basic cakes, pastries, and muffins, but what makes them so unique is their European and artisan bread and rolls and, of course, real potato lefse— yum. There’s nothing better than some real Scandinavian lefse with butter and sugar. They also cater and have some delicious sandwiches and snacks in their cafe.
Real Customer Review: “I love this place! If you like lefse, macaroons, pastries, cakes, or just want breakfast or lunch, this is the place to go. Try the Chocolate Crinkles Cookies! They’re delicious!” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
6- Little Venetian 🍝
The Vitale family has owned and operated Little Venetian since 2002, but it all started with a little vegetable stand on Rice Street in 1928. That little stand led to the opening of The Venetian Inn, which stood for an amazing 70 years until the building was bought and its doors closed in 2001. It didn’t take long for the family to reopen a place (Little Venetian) to keep the tradition alive, serving authentic Italian dishes and fare.
Real Customer Review: “Amazing!! It was delicious!! Entire staff was super friendly. The owner came out to ask us how we were doing. Had a cool old mafia vibe. Felt like I was in a restaurant from “Good Fellas.” HIGHLY recommend this place.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
7- El Sombrero Mexican Restaurant 🫔
Enchiladas, burritos, and tacos— oh my! That’s just one small portion of the extensive and delicious menu served up at El Sombrero Mexican Restaurant. With decades of experience, the head chef at El Sombrero makes some of the best Mexican food you can find in the Twin Cities. Their fajita menu alone is nearly endless, and you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Be sure to check out this Little Canada hot spot!
Real Customer Review: “Great Mexican food that you can tell is cooked with love. Have been here several times and will continue to come back. Very cozy and clean atmosphere with pleasant and friendly service. A gem in this little strip mall.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
8- Flameburger 🍔
Flameburger is a local staple for that perfect small diner spot that has breakfast all day, flame-grilled burgers, and the most perfect crinkle fries. Open from 6am to 2am every day, you will find all walks of life throughout the day— people grabbing chicken fried steak after the bar or families coming in for burgers and shakes for lunch. It’s just good vibes, all around.
Real Customer Review: “This place is outstanding. Best burgers and breakfast food I’ve had in a while. The ambience is great, the staff is friendly and professional. 10 out of 10 for me.” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
9- YO! Pizza and Fries 🍟
